[VIDEO] Matt Damon Discusses How Actors and Filmmakers Can Survive In Hollywood

In December 2012, the SAG Foundation had an incredible interview with Academy Award Winner Matt Damon.  In this Q&A which was moderated by Jenelle Riley of Backstage, Matt discusses how he got his SAG Card, auditioning for the Mickey Mouse Club, the struggles he faced in his early days of acting, why and how he and Ben Affleck wrote Good Will Hunting, and much more.

This interview is truly inspiring for any new actor or filmmaker.

Our key takeaway was that you have to go out and create your own work.  Especially starting out, it is highly unlikely that you will get “discovered” anymore.  You must constantly be creating your own job.

Be sure to watch Matt Damon’s upcoming film “The Martian” in Theatres October 2nd, 2015.
